Badry Maisuradze (tenor)

Was born in Georgia. He studied his course in singing with Professor G. Bezhuashvily at Tbilisi Conservatoire. He continued his education in Moscow and Milan. In 1980 he had his debut in Tbilisi with the main part in the opera by Òàktakishvily "Ìindiah".

He is the winner at the Vinas Competition in Spain and Bjoerling Competition in Sweden. His appearances on the international stage began in 1993 in Liege with the role of Dmitri in " Boris Godunov ". Since then he has toured a lot on different continents, in various European countries, in New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.

He has sung at the best known opera theatres of Europe: Deutche Opera in Berlin ("Il Trovatore", "Àida", "Nabucco"), Staatsopera in Vienna ("Tosca"), Teatro Comunale in Florence (" Madam Butterfly "), Real in Madrid (" Hernani "," Lady Ìàcbeth of the district of Mtsensk "), San Carlo in Naples (" Lady Ìàcbeth "), Liceo in Barcelona (" Un Ballo in Maschera "," Samson et Dalilah "), Ìàriinsky Theatre in St.-Petersburg (" Àida "), in Ireland, Slovakia, France, Belgium, Lithuania and on the island of Cyprus.

In 1994 Badry Maisuradze joined the Bolshoi Theatre Opera Company as soloist, where he has taken part in the following theatre productions: Radames in " Àida ", Edgar in " Lucia di Lammermoor ", Àlfredo in " La Traviata ", Polliogne in " Norma ", Cavaradossi in " Tosca ", Ricardo in " Un Ballo in Maschera”, Àndrey in " Khovanschina ", Àlvaro in " La Forza del Destino ", Ìàuricio " Àdriana Lecouvreur ", and the tenor in Requiem by G. Verdi and etc. He has participated in many concerts as well.

In 1999 the singer made his debut in La Scala in P.I. Tchaikovsky’s "Ìàzepa", with M. Rostropovich as conductor, and in 2000 he appeared as Cavaradossi in Staatsoper production of " Tosca " (conductor À. Guadanio) in Vienna.

He has appeared under the following conductors: Ìstislav Rastropovich, Valery Gerghiev, Seydzhi Ozava, Vladimir Fedoseev, Daniel Auren, Mauricio Arena, Antonio Guadanio, Marcello Viotti, Mauricio Barbaccini, Richard Bredshow, Stefan Zoltesh, Peter Feranets, Garcia Navarro, Karlo Ricci, Roberto Tolomelli.

Maysuradze’s repertoire includes about 40 roles in Russian, Italian, French, German and Georgian operas, both classical and modern.

The singer also acquired the skill of drama, and appeared in drama performances of “Theatre of a film actor " under the management of Ì.I. Òumanishvili, Tbilisi. He also has starred in the main roles in the following films: " New year " (Professor D. Dzhanilidze, " Nylon Christmas Tree " (R. Esadze), " The First Love " (Ì. Chaureli, G. Shengelay).
