Sergey Gaydey, tenor
Was born on March 11 1974 in Dubna of the Moscow
region. In 1998 he graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatoire
(professor P.I. Skhusnichenko’s class). In 1994 he became a probationer
with the Moscow Theatre " Novaya Opera" under Evgeny Kolobov’s
management. Since 1995 he has been soloist with the Bolshoi Theatre
Opera Company. The same year he made his successful Bolshoi Theatre
debut as Rudolfo in the first night of the new production of "La
Boheme " by G. Puccini. The singer’s extensive repertoire includes
the following parts: Alfredo "La Traviata ", Rudolfo "La
Boheme ", the Duke " Rigoletto", Vodemon "Iolanta”,
Khalaf " Òurandît " (the premiere was held in September
2002), Prince “ The Love for the Three Oranges ", Astrologer
" Golden Cockerel ", Lykov " The Tsar’s Bride ",
Mozart " Mozart and Saglieri ", Lensky " Åugene Onegin
", Yurodivy " Boris Godunov ", the Young Gipsy "Àleko",
Tsar Berendey " Snow Maiden ".
The singer tours abroad a lot. He appeared
as Lensky (" Åugene Onegin ") in Lille (France) in 1997
and in Barcelona (Spain) in 1998 at the theatre “Licåî”; he made
frequent appearances in " Liceo " (Barcelona 1999-2000)
in the part of Edgar in the theatre production of " Lucia di
Lammermoor".
In 1999 with the Bolshoi Theatre troupe he
toured Great Britain where he sang the role of Prince in the guest
performance of " The Love for the Three Oranges " at the
Cîliseum theatre (London).
He made his appearances as Prince in the guest
productions of the Bolshoi Theatre of " The Love for the Three
Oranges " in Hong Kong (2002), as Astrologer in " Golden
Cockerel " in Italy (Trieste 2000 and Rome 2002). In September
2002 he participated in guest concerts of the Bolshoi Theatre soloists
in Berlin.
The singer has appeared with the following
conductors: À. Ànisimov, À. Vedernikov, À. Pallacci, S. Politikov,
À. Stepanov, P. Sorokin, V. Poliansky, À. Chistakov, P. Ferants,
Ì. Ermler and under the following directors: Vladimir Vasiliev,
Francesca Zambela, Peter Konvichny, Federik Merdita, Alexey Maslennikov,
Boris Pokrovsky, Todaci Sudzucky, Peter Ustinof.
