Gennady Yanin, Honoured Artist of Russia.

Gennady was born in 1968 in Serpukhov of the Moscow Region. A graduate of the Moscow Academic Choreography College, in 1986 he joined the troupe of the Moscow Academic K.S. Stanislavsky and V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko musical theatre, where he performed solo parties in the following ballets:

At the same time he took part in the performances of "the Kremlin ballet" theatre. In "Cinderella" he danced the solo role of Stepmother and another solo in the ballet "Nostalgie".

In 1992 the dancer became the winner of the First premium at the international ballet competition in Rietti, Italy.

In 1995 he was invited to join the Bolshoi Theatre Ballet Troupe as soloist. He has all the makings of a first rank dancer: out of ordinary artistic personality and optimistic nature of dancing, musical ear and filigree dancing technique – he is especially successful in performing smaller pas – and the mastery of rotations - all these enabled the dancer to create a number of colourful scenic images and to keep the leading position in his line.
